About the creators

The idea for Swerve City started in 1996... kind of.

My brother showed me some music on a cassette tape. I had never heard music sound like that. I was immediately obsessed.

Within months, I was at my first concert. My brother took me. He picked me up from school, told me nothing, and off we went.

The band was 311 with Fishbone opening at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles. I couldn't believe that people could get paid to play music, sell shirts, design posters... MAKE MUSIC! And all of these people made the pilgrimage to witness the magic.

That experience changed my life.

Shortly thereafter, I met my forever culprit and partner in crime who shares and encourages my philosophies on life and art and drag queens. Yeah... we vibe hard to it, because after all, drag IS art. Art is life. But so is water. And chocolate.

Flash forward 25 years... and we have Swerve City. A company created to serve musicians and small businesses, artists, non-profits, and individuals flirting with the idea of creative chaos.

We want to change the way that we all interact.

By creating Swerve City, we are able to give jobs and opportunities to students, artists, and affect change within our local community and beyond.

Swerve City is and will always be Los Angeles based in heart, mind, and soul.

We gotchu!
